I have about 300g total capacity. I'm running a weak skimmer Coralife 220, run carbon, Gfo, a 75g fuge, an algae scrubber once a month water changes. Tested water. My corals seem to be browning or losing color.

Nitrates 0 salifert
Phosphate 0 Hanna
Calc425
Alk 8.9
Magnesium 1300

browning would mean that the water is not. most likely. do you have a sand bed? how much do you feed? are there other typs of coral that could be stressing the SPS?

the tank has been up for 8 years it started softies with little maint. then lps now sps I'll try and get pics up. tanks 4'x2' 150 dsb and lights are 8 110w vho 6 super actinic and 2 act white with 33 rb leds the tank has been fine until i added the basement setup. I have mostly sps and a lot of them.

My red planet looked like that until I started feeding more.
Your corals looks happy and healthy. So a little more nutrients just might do the trick :)

they do look healthy right? i mean the polyps are out i am feeding more now i was feeding about 2 times at night now about avery other night

hereas another thing ill add, mine looked like that when i was running too much gfo and carbon. if you are, try cutting it back by half and feeding more. wait a month and see

ok thanks try to make a long story short, I added two coral tanks to the system and a sump so I added 125g of fresh new water. the original setup had about 175g a guestimate with lr and sand. the coral tanks and sump cycled grew algae and there was a fishy smell in the sump I threw in 6 cups of rox carbon, I know it was too much. and the smell went away this was a few months ago i moved all the frags and some colonies to the frag tanks under different lights and added an algae scrubber and here I am now with faded colors and some brown colonies in my dt It seems green is being effected the most. I have removed the carbon replaced gfo with half the dose added some trace and iodine put another hour on my white bulbs upstairs. and i am feeding fish and corals more I hope it clears up and looks the way it did I need to give it time. I also did a 50g water change
