Is popeye req on both eye?

Hi all,

I bought three chromis today and discovered at home, that one has one larger eye and seems more shy staying beside a rock instead of playing everywhere with his two other friends.

So, my question: is this guy born with a bigger eye and his handicap make him less eager to discover the world like a crazy of his specie or is popeye possible only on one eye and I should treat it right away with Maracyn2??

Thanks in advance

P.S. Two very bad pictures of the guy but still may help you understand.

Guillaume,

It is difficult to see in those pictures, but it seems that the fish also has scale damage above and behind the eye. With a recently purchased fish that show popeye in one eye only, I usually think that it is damage caused by capturing it at the store. Surely the fish did not look like this before the store employee caught it up for you? If it then looked this way within a day after bringing it home, I would say that confirms the cause as being physical damage.

Maracyn 2, dosed in a quarantine tank, would be one possible course of action. The other would be to return it to the store and let them deal with their mistake.

Hi Jay, thanks for your toughts. I would agree with you considering the LFS was not very careful with handling when capturing.
Thanks
