Is SO4 important for reef organisms ?

I found that in same new methods, there is no mixing MgCl2 and MgSO4 and no NaCl free salt, only MgCl2, CaCl2, NaHCO3 and small additional bottles with Sr, Ba, trace elements, K, F, J

Theoreticaly I understand, that is possible to maintain Mg, Ca and KH with 3 canisters method, and that is possible to add more K, J, F,Ba,Sr, etc with some supplements.

But I do not understand how to maintain SO4 NSW level, with such methods ?

I believe that Mg and SO4 are the maiin components in NaCl free salt.

Yes, they would be the main ingredients. Sulfate is the third most abundant ion in seawater. I do not know what happens if it gets depleted relative to chloride. Any minor uses of it might be served adequately even if depleted a bit, but I really do not know.

Yes they need sulfate, i am not a scientist but from this article http://144.206.159.178/ft/402/78526/1324578.pdf I can tell they need sulfate as they find organic sulfate on coral skeleton.

quote "Spectral responses of three coral skeletons show that the sulfated form is extremely dominant in coral
aragonite, and practically exclusive within both centres of calcification and the surrounding fibrous tissues of
coral septa" XANES mapping of organic sulfate in three scleractinian coral skeletons
