Is stress coat bad?

I use stress coat when I do water changes to declorinate the water. I have a 55 gal plastic barrel with a heater and air stone and I let the water sit. When I do water changes the skimmer adds tons of tiny bubbles to the tank and water in the colection cup.

Is this normal? Or is this because I have a sea-clone skimmer?

Is there a better declorinater that will not effect skimming?

Yes, stress coat does cause bubbles. What are you dechlorinating the water for anyway? What kind of water are you using?

Seachem Prime is what I have used (don't use it often though since I have RO/DI now), and it doesn't seem to effect the skimmer. It will also detoxify ammonia and nitrite.

If you are using RO/DI water you shouldn't need it.

won't it be cheaper in the long run to get RO/DI, then spend money on some "magic" potion and have nitrate/phosphate problems?

I use tap water that is filtered with a in line house filter. I do not have the money for a ro di unit right now and I have like half of a gallon of the stress coat left. Will the amquel have the same affect on my skimmer as the stress coat?

With all those tanks it would pay to get an RO-DI you can get one for under 200 on E-Bay. Before I got my RO I used Prim it did not make my skimmer go crazy
