I just set up a 34 gallon 130d red sea max and just about ready for corals. I would like to have acros but its not enough light. Does anyone know of a retrofit kit for the 130d redsea max so i can put different t5's. It currently has power compact t5's. ust wondering thanks. I'm glad to be back in the hobby.;)

Nanotuners has metal halide retro kits for the red sea max but for t5 only you would have to do it yourself. It maybe possible to use the same ballast and rewire it to use t5 bulbs. I have three 32 watt compacts on a 16" cube and when I replace them I will go with 12" t5 diy retro or go topless.

Is that the sight name nano tuners. Also do i have to get rid of my hood for the halide retro. Radiums 150w would be cool.

Just checked out the site WOW 400.00 for the kit i only paid 300 for the system lol. I guess i'll have to think about it.

Yes nanotuners.com is the sight name but they aren't cheap ($350 to $400). But you get to keep your factory hood. They have four different options. A 70 watt or 150 watt with or without pc lights also. A topless or diy t5 would be much cheaper. I would just try wiring t5s to the existing ballast when its time to change them out.
