is there a such thing as to much light?

I have 3-400wmh 10k, 2-250wmh 20K, and 2-140W fluorescent actenics on a 215. I didn't know if to much light would be bad, good or what? When I'm working on the tank for more than 15 minutes I get a sun burn and you have to stop for awhile.

I had 2 250w DE and 1 400w all with HQI ballasts and two 110w vho over my 120g....great growth and color.

1120 watts on a 24" deep, 120g.....9.3wpg. for my tank.

You only have 1980w on 30" deep, 215g.....9.2wpg. for your tank.

According to my experience, you should have fantastic coloration and growth:D

Consider sun light, that is normal at the appropriate depth for the life you wish to sustain. However flow and water temp must also be considered in the equation.

Yes all of this is very true.....But we are talking about Dave here. He probaly has his arms in the oven and thought he was in his tank. Go take some meds lay down before you hurt yourself. BTW, how's the lil green alien doing Dave?? :D

Have some fun...look up photoinhibition some time. All you are doing is wasting electricity. :D

It helps keep the house wark so I'm not really wasting electric. I helps light up the front room.

The green man was killed when I had to much cough syrup. Now I just keep all the recordings of the "COPS" show I'm on. I think I will be famous soon, just like - Lee Harvy Oswald.
