Is there a Way To Do This?

Folks,

I have a 54g tank, with my sump in the basement. It's getting a bit tedious hauling buckets upstairs to do a water change, and I'm curious if there's a way I can tap into my existing plumbing to make water changes a bit easier? Any ideas how I could plumb such a thing? I suspect removing water would be somewhat simple, as I could just tap into the line coming from my overflow and let gravity do it's thing, but not sure about how to get the new saltwater into the tank from it's storage container.

Advice is greatly appreciated!

Ok, so how would I go about doing that? I've tried doing this in the past, but once I drain all the water out of the sump (It's ony 5g or so) I can't turn my return pump on, as there is no water flowing in the sump to then fill it back up to remove more water.

What am I doing wrong?

turn off your tank, let the sump fill up. drain the sump, and fill it back up with fresh saltwater. If you want to do a larger water change, why not get a little larger sump? I try to match sump size to my waterchange size, it just makes it easier.

Ok thanks...Looks like I'd need a bigger sump. I try and do a 10% weekly water change, and when I've done it in the sump in the past, it usually causes problems where my return pump won't actually start pumping again unless I drain some water out...
