I currently am running 3 250w MH on my 150g reef tank with 4 96w actinic power compacts and was considering putting a fourth 250 halide to even out the light in the tank. Currently the middle halide bulb is partially blocked by the tank bracing and it causes a shadow to be cast directly in the center of the tank so i figured if i move it over and added another on the opposing side it might not leave a shodaw as it does now. My concern is that I may be actually over lighting the tank. If I sound crazy then let me know, also my halides are only about 8 inches from the water because of the canopy just more info.
