I was wondering if anyone can ID these three anemones? The guy at the LFS said it was related to the apastia and it would over run my tank. I kinda like them but I dont want something that is going to bad. I am sorry if I mess this up this is the first time I have ever tried to start a thread and put a pic in it.

yes its a tulip anemone in the mojano fam and it will kill any coral it touches also they will spead like wildfire

if you can get them off cleanly yes a knife will work best
joes juice and kalk paste are not 100 percent but do work well
i am in a constant battle with these things they came in as hitchikers and nothing eats them
they are a tremendous pest

Are the pink tip miniature anemones in the same family? Are these pests?

Those almost look like zoanthids!! I believe you when you say they are anems, but if there was a zoanthid look-alike contest, they's take first place.

So a sharp knife to get rid of them? I tried to remove one already and it broke apart with this mucous slime. Not good? Any safer way to remove? Thanks.

i like using a razor blade when possible also try and get it all in one peice. when it is not i make up kalk paste and use a syringe to cover them you have to turn off all the pumps for a couple hours to let the kalk work otherwise they will recover and come back

I've used Joe's Juice and tried Pepermint Shrimp to no avail. The prob with using the juice is that if you don't get all of them they pop right back up, plus the juice makes your live rock look like crap. I was hoping the shrimp would take care of them, but no, they're not even interested.

I also tried hot water, it looks like it just strunk, but still in one piece. I'll try the razor blade & kalk paste next. Again, thanks.

THICK kalk paste and turn the pumps off so the kalk doesnt blow off it takes like 2 hours to melt one

I was told by another reefer today that the art of Pep. shrimp eating them is to strave them for 2-3 weeks and then put them in the tank.
