Is this a Carberryi anthias ?

Hi

Can someone please confirm this pic to be of a Carberryi anthias ?

Sadly I lost it in QT this morning, it was one of a group of 5, the rest are doing fine. I am asking for the ID as the remaining four are a much yellow/pink colour and so I'm just a little unsure whether this one is not a different type of anthias.

Just do a search on Google and compare the pictures that you find.

I'm sorry for your loss, but these fish are difficult to keep in any numbers because they will kill each other off and need to be fed a lot of food. At least this is what I've read on them. They are beautiful fish though.

That yellow line coming from the eye, certainly looks like a carberryi to me.
Keep in mind a male may have different coloring, or a sick malnourished anthias may also look less vibrant.
Carberryi's are not really that difficult to keep, and they are not really known for pecking each other off, not to the level of what bartletts are known for doing.
Many types of anthia seem to either not ship well or come w/ sickness or parasites, definitely need a QT for them as OP is doing, and if I ordered 5, I would not be surprised if only half survived, in fact I'd be surprised if all all did.

I agree that is a Carberry. I have one in QT now that was initially purple and yellow. It has taken a turn for the worse and now looks like the OP's fish, except that it is still alive

Being new to anthias, is this loss/attrition the norm? I'm amazed/frustrated at how fragile they seem to be initially. Is it an effect of shipping? Is it species specific?

Thanks for your comments, those echo my understanding on the hardiness of the fish, the others all still seem to be doing well so will keep my fingers crossed, I was just a little concerned with this one being much more red than the others that I might have gotten a different model of anthias, but I think I'm satisfied that is not the case
