Is this a concern? Front and back panel hanging off stand.

Hello RC!

Its been a while and I am making a come back to the hobby. Got my tank delivered today but noticed that the tank is not fully supported on the bottom.

The bottom panel is supported but the front and back panel are not.

Would this be a concern? What are your thoughts?

Yeah that doesn't look right. I know the Red Sea and waterbox yanks have the front glass hanging over the stand. But not the back

Looks like a cracked bottom panel waiting to happen imho. old school style stands are like frames, open space under the bottom panel, just a frame supporting the 4 vertical panels. Kinda the opposite of what you have. If you doubled up 3/4" plywood and had a 1/2"-3/4" foam pad under the entire base of the tank you could probably get away with using that stand. Just my 2 cents.

Late jumping in here but not a chance. I can't remember if it was this board or the other big message board but someone had a tank that was like this where a little piece hung off the side and his bottom ended up cracking and dumping all the water on his floor.

There is no way you should be accepting of this for a brand new tank.

Well this sucks.. delivery was 3 days late. I was super stoked to get it, now I’m pretty bummed. Hope I can get this resolved. Thanks for the input guys. My first rimless tank and the thought of the tank being glass and not supported completely was def alarming.

I'm scared just looking at it dry and empty but I'm not a tank builder nor structural engineer so what do I know...

Red Sea tanks are designed to look like that in the front, to look flush with the doors.

honestly.. not the safest design IMO.. already had 1 tank leak within a year. Got a replacement.
