Is this a Nassirus?

These were sold to me some time ago as a large Nassirus snail. I urchased 10 and the stay in the sand bed for the most park. At feeding time they come up and scavange. The best ID I can give it is Nassarius (Telasco) luridus"based on the shell. I can not get any info beyond that about the reef compatibility of the snail. I have never witnessed any predation of other snails so I do not suspct it is a whelk. Just wnted to see given this months article regarding the other snail.

Yes, it's Nassarius. Which species, I can't say.

looks like the large tongan species... I have over a dozen of them in my 100 and fuge. some are about 1 1/2 inches now.
