just got my first coral through UPS. It is a toadstool I think. Is this the usual way they are suppose to arrive? Is, its not what I was expecting. Arent the suppose to be attached to something? It looks terrible. At this point, what should I do?

Ive never seen a coral shipped that way....the thumbnail almost looked like someone cleaned off a buffalo wing.

doesn't look too terrible, but looks a little stress from the shipping. Get it acclimate and let it be and see how it does.
Do I just stick the mushroom in the sand? Stick the other TStool under a rock? I dipped it for 10mins
Sorry but theres no club where I am

Mushrooms are fine. Super hardy and will rebound quickly. I would put the leather between two rocks to keep it from falling

It will pull through!

It will pull through!

Did you take a photo of it and send it to the seller if they had a DOA policy? I have received a toadstool coral from the post and it looked very similar. It rebounded great and is doing fine now. Make sure it stays upright as suggested, mushrooms will be fine, place them in low flow or they may detach from the rock they came on (which isn't bad but you may lose track of em).

I think the leather will be fine. It just needs a good chance to get used to your tank. As for the mushrooms - if they are not happy where they are, they will detach and move to a (hopefully) better place. They were not happy during shipping. At least IME, they are very difficult to kill, so I think that they, too, will be just fine.

Thanks for the answers.

Yes they do have that policy and I did send them a photo with pretty much the same questions I asked in here.I was not really sure what was the mushroom or what was the toad stool. As I said, completely green here.

Thanks for the reassurance Bill.

FWIW.. I lightly rubberband shrooms to a rock and it ill stick there after a bit of time and you can remove the rubberband..
Same for leathers or superglue it (gel is the best hands down)..

Now the sand issue. between the blennies and the power heads sand the shooms last night. If the power head is adjusted one way it makes something happy and something else ****ed. Now to figure that out. There's always something, ways something else.
LA got back to me and confirmed that all is good just like you guys said.Thanks.
