is this little guy on my bubble aptasia? I saw 1 last month, now I'm up to at least 5. How do I get rid of them.

I don't think so. Looks VERY similar to my young brown Ricordia Yuma coral.

Aiptasias tend to have longer "fingers."

Edit: didn't see that there's 5. If they're replicating that quickly, then yeah - it's probably aiptasia.

Peps are hit-or-miss with aiptasia.

Some will go nuts over them (as mine do), some don't. If you have one, best to wait a bit and see if it devours it.

It's 100% a majano. Often arrive on coral fragments as they will have followed the light up to them in the original coral tanks.
They tend to multiply very quickly so kill them asap. Buy a bottle of Joes Juice and have a go at them tonight.

I'm sure it's not aiptasia; I'm not at all convinced it's majano. Consult one of the online galleries of photos.

Waiting for more opinions....as I have the exact same thing that came in on a mushroom frag I purchased - and I swear it's Majano.

Yep Majano Anemone, a young one. they spread quickly, and will sting coral, fish, you, and anything else that touches it. i use Joes Juice with lots of success. you can inject it with boiling water, or kalkwasser as well. i havent tried those two methods. that is probably why your bubble coral isnt opening where the Majano is.

Well to be more precise it's a Tulip Anemone, which is also sometimes considered a majano. Still a rapidly multiplying pest IMO.
Here is a pic for comparison.

I think I brought it home during our frag swap. :( I'm gonna cook them to see what happens. Last time I took it Aptasia out of the rocks and quirt them with boiling water. THat did the trick.

In my personal experience, I've never seen a pep really do anything for you and most of the time they just disappear until you clean your tank. Now. . .I've heard about all sorts of help that they've provided others but have never seen it myself. With aptasia, get started early and fast it's all you can do.

Majano's are usually VERY pretty colored, but don't let that deceive you. As said above several times, they are pest, sting, and spread RAPIDLY.

Tip: Put some food into the joe's juice or whatever you decide to use. You need to get the majano to INGEST the stuff, not dart back into the rock.
