Is this aptasia?

Just noticed this tiny guy on the rock my frogspawn came with. If it's aptasia can I inject it with lemon juice?

Looks like it to me ! You can try injecting it with lemon juice, but i have heard that most reccoment using aptasia x instead. Definitely don't go chasing it or try pulling it out of the tank, that will only make it reproduce.

I tried burning it off with a match, but the match kept going out as soon as I put it in the water. :debi:

Seriously, a syringe works good. I'm not talking about the type with a needle, but one that comes with a test kit. Just be careful to not touch the aiptasia with the syringe or it will close up before you have a chance to squirt it. The small amount of juice used won't affect the tank. Just don't get it directly on anything you want to keep. I don't know from experience, but I suspect it could hurt a coral.

They might develop a taste for your corals too. Lot's of horror stories out there regarding these things. Be careful!

Make sure you keep an eye out everywhere in your tank. Heard these lil suckers can overrun a tank. But the syringe method should be enough to fix the problem

I work with a diabetic and injected it with lemon juice. But now my cyano is back so I'm lights out again for 3 days....I'll probably lose the. Ew frogspawn I got last week now.....I feel like an epic failure. Maybe I'm not meant to have a reef.....ready to throw in the towel

Sounds normal to me... I'm not exactly sure how old your tank is, but don't think the owner of that beautiful tank pictured here at the home page didn't go through this stuff too. (Cyanobacteria, Aiptasia etc) It sucks, but it's kind of fun if your in it for the long haul. Diversity at it's finest. ;)

Just got rid of one. Used Aptasis X. Worked great. Just go slow when injecting product and try for the center of the pest
