Is this bubble algae?

Hey, I was at pet co and in their salt water tank I found all this stuff! I wasn't sure what it was, but it's brown and gooey, it is like a web covering almost the whole tank! It's also got little air bubbles stuck in it. Hence why I think it's bubble algae, though it doesn't really look to me like algae at all, but I don't know much about algae! Wouldn't be bad to but from this tank? Can I just get rid of this algae by cleaning it off? Thanks for your help!

I think the petco tanks are rather high in nutrients. My local one has quite the algae display going on! That does look like dinos and cyano.

Thanks, I'll have to look that up! This was in the pet Co tank. Would It be best that I not buy from here? It's disappointing because I used to live next to a pet co with a large salt water selection and a very knowledgable aquatics specialist and everything looked very nice, I moved close to this pet I with not a very wide selection and nobody who'd know anything about salt water!

Looks to me like what happens when peroxide is added to dyno algae. Maybe they used it to try and clean up algae in their tank? Doesn't look good.

I wouldn't buy anything out of that tank. Looks like it's got a few types of algae in there. If you do buy something make sure you clean off the frag good before going in your tank, or better yet just remove the coral from the plug and toss the plug away.

Typical Petco...

Never buy anything from them... They are simply inferior across the board..
