Is this enough light for a clam??

I have a 55 gallon tank...it has 440 watts of VHO. 2 aquasuns and 2 super actinics. Tell me what you guys think?? Let me know what type of clam I can have in there if any at all.

I would try a squamosa or deresa if I were you. I recently bought a gold maxima that was supposed to be a squamosa because I only have VHO. I have a 125 with 740 watts of VHO and he is up in the rocks. He is doing excellent so far but it hasn't been very long. I do however feed DT's phytoplankton pretty heavily. Hope this helps!

Yep, squamosa or derasa. It it's your first clam make sure he's over 3 inches. Make sure he gets plenty of live phyto like DTs.

Also, do your future clam a favor and read Daniel Knop's "Giant Clams" book.
