Is this enough to keep a fire goby in?

I have a 80 gallon long acrylic tank, and I am getting a fire goby soon. My tank has acrylic on the top of the tank, with 2 rectangular openings. We recently got a light, and it blocks those openings, and we can slide it out, to feed fish, or clean the tank. Will this work and keep a fire goby in? Or should I get a screen like a egg crate? our tank does not have a top. Nice answers please, thanks.

Make a screen top. Brs sells clear screen material. That way you have better oxygen transfer on the tank

Egg crate will NOT keep firefish in. 1/4 inch mesh as described above should work fine.

Eggcrate WITH screen will work fine.
