Is this frag getting healthier? Or not?

I got this Pocillopora frag 8 days ago and it seems to be getting a lighter brown colour than it was before. Is this a good or bad thing?

The first picture is Day 1 in my tank and the second picture is Day 8 in my tank.

Sometimes new sps frags pale out and then color back up when established. How much light is it under?

It is under a 250 Watt metal halide. It is about 2.5 feet from it though.

It is just over 1 month old

Sps tend too do better in established tanks. The same pale color occurred when I tried it in a newish tank.

Hard to tell unless you knew what the mother colony looked like, your light looks to be enough but your tank is still real young for SPS. The tank is going threw fluctuations the first 6-9 months, and sps do not like change.

Ok, so what should I do if this frag keeps getting lighter? Or will it be fine?

Not much you can do I would just wait and see what happens if it was closer to the light I would say move it down but at 2.5ft you are well out of range where it would start bleaching from too mucch light

Like Paul said, it is in and isnt in a spot that will likely be bleached. Just leave it be, it will mostly change coloration as everything settles in and you never know it might become the hardiest coral in your tank growing out to a show piece.
