Let me know

Thanks

Your anemone will win that battle. I would move the toadstool over a bit if you can or else it will continue to sting the coral, potentially causing death. If you move the anemone, it might move to where it wants anyway which could be back to the position it is currently in.
hope this helps
ps: I have this same problem at this momnet. My an. just split and the second peice is now moved right next to a toadstool. Maybe it is in the moon patterns?

Maybe... the problem is I dont have anywhere to move it. That pic does not show the size very well. The toadstool when open easily 9"-12" depending on the time of day its open. The LTA is going to be huge according to SOM (Hung). I really want to keep it but I don't think I will be able to.

1.) Turn the rock the toadstool leather is attached to so that is tilts the other way.

However if the toadstool is tilting that way due to water flow try this.

2.) Change the water flow, or

3.) Purchase a thin, flat piece of live rock (plate shaped) and place it in between the amenone and the toadstool leather.

That is full-tank disaster waiting to happen. If one or the other buys the farm, it may well take out the other, and possibly other specimens as well, if unmitigated. Run carbon now. Either get that toadstool clear over to the right hand, or get one or the other out of the tank altogether. I've seen this kind of thing happen and it's not pretty!

Good luck

I do not think you necessarily need to take the leather back to the LFS. You just need to provide a physical separation of the anemone from the coral (a.k.a. like option 3, using a flat piece of live rock to make a physical barrier).

The problem with amenones is that they will move until they find a location that best suites their needs (water flow, light, temp, food, etc). I would let the anemone find that location, then relocate any effected corals or provide a physical barrier to protect the coral from the anemone.

I believe you stated the anemone divided? Maybe sell/trade off one of those anemones?

Good Luck!!!

took him back and got a replacement.... Pink Tipped Long Tentacle Plate coral. Looks nice as soon as it opens up I will post a pic

that is probably the best option due to the space constraints you were dealing with. beautiful specimum though. hope you did not loss too much on the deal.
