ok so im making my 29 gallon reef into a anemone and clownfish tank so i have a question: right now all i have flow is a seio820 and it doesnt get great flow across the measly 30" of my tank so i was thinking of how to get a better flow and i came up with a thought (im not calling it original:)) if i get a mag 7/mag 12/mag 9.5 and put pvc pipes into the tank holding the pump in placeand then 2 pipes into the tank coming off the return will this work to keep the flow going al around the tank i dont need ALOT of flow cause its just gona be anemones and clownfish so i dont think they need very much flow let me know!!!

How do you have your seio 820 mounted?

Best way to get flow out of these is to take the housing off and make them look like the Tunze's.

As for the Mag pump thing. Yea you can pretty much do it. Its a closed loop. But I dont know about doing it with a Mag pump on a 29g. Their hhhhhhhott pumps.

i have the seio mounted like a tunze just i want more flow in there i might put the seio in the 10 gallon :)

when u say hot like how hot cause i mean it would be outdine of the tank so the air would have time to cool it off but are they loud? and also would it heat up the water that its pushing out???or only if its in water>?? if there loud ill have to pass as the tank will be in my room!

I use a mag7 on my 29 gal and honestly, its noisy and maybe a little too strong. if I had to do it again, especially iwth you setup, i would go wtih another brand. BTW, it dosnt really heat up 2 much.

They are loud. And run off some serious high wattage. Probably over kill pushing in 700gph into a 29g tank though.

The mag drive is way overkill. Not to mention ur consuming some major wattage with that thing. The SEIO may not seem like its pushing much water, because its flow is very dispersed... not focused like other powerheads. This is a good thing. :)

If you feel like u need more, add another SEIO or a Maxi Jet... they are great for a tank that size, and use a tenth of the electricity of the mag drive! HTH. (I too am having flow issues... :) )
