Is this ich or brook?

I just did the 3rd dip on my clowns. It doesn't seem to be spreading but it also doesn't appear to be getting any better

I did 2 ml of formalin MS on a gallon of water for the full hour today and they did ok throughout the bath. I then transferred them into a new tank so I could clean and sterilize the one they have been in.

If I am doing the math right, if I wanted a 200 ppm formalin solution I need 2 ml per gallon right?

Since it is 37%, 2ml X 0.37 = 0.74

Therefore (1,000,000 X 0.74)/ ( 3,785 ml + 2 ml) which gives 195ish ppm

I want to make sure I am using enough to do something but don't want to overdose either. Am I correct in my dosing?

After the 200 ppm dip she looks a lot better and looks like some of the white has gone away.

How many dips should I do once I see improvement to be sure it's eradicated?

I thought so too but that math is wrong. The Formalin is 37% formaldehyde dissolved in water = 100% Formalin (37%) - you got to treat it as pure.

Thanks

That makes sense and makes the dose recommendation on the bottle closer to the 200 ppm dip concentration I've read about

Thanks again

So far she looks about totally cured, will do one more dip tomorrow when I transfer to new QT tank and continue to monitor
