Is this normal for a bta?

I've had this bta for about two months. My tank is about 9 months old. My parameters have always been good. I test it about every two weeks and take a sample into my lfs.. I'm currently battling cyano. It just won't go away. I use filtered water. Do water changes 10% about every week. Try to stir the sand around as much as I can. Anyway my bta has started doing this the last few days. Ive been a bit more aggresive trying to clean out the cyano could he just be irritated? Or is he Not doing so well. It's so strange.

If you have Cyano your water isn't good. Cyano feeds off of nitrate and phosphate. Nems will do this from time to time. What size tank do you have a what light? Nems demand good lighting

Sometimes a BTA will just act weird for a few days and then it is back to normal, they are odd creatures who like to make you paranoid. I have to agree though that the cyano probably plays a bit of a role with your water chemistry. Is the BTA bleaching in anyway or have you changed the lights recently? It seems to be shying away from the light ( would be very surprised if this was the case though).

I have leds. One is an old marine land one I bought with the tank and I bought another led one from current usa. Ill have to get the box to know what it gives off. But I did ask the local fish store they said they were just fine. I only have a 29g bio cube.
2 clowns and 1 valentini puffer. 2 turbo snails and 1 hermit. A protien skimmer And a I have a maxi jet pump and then some wave maker I got with the tank.
Maybe I should just start buying the instant ocean water instead of mixing The salt in. New mexico water isn't the best.
Since I got the current usa led the anemone has looked so much better. He bubbles up now and with the marine land he was losing shape and color. I feed him every two days or so. Can the cyano hurt it? And it makes it want to hide? My Sophie's for so many questions.

I do filter the water though I also use a dechlorinator. Everytime. I'm sure it's not the same as a rodi unit though. I'll have to invest in one.
the lfs and I just kinda took a shot at the bta. We knew it was either gonna live or due with that light and it made it just barely though Cause I was unsure which model it was. To I get an rodi unit would it be acceptable to use the premixed stuff?

the pre-mixed stuff is better than tap water that's for sure. Your LFS might sell RO/DI water mixed with salt. The problem there is you really don't know when they changed the filters. There are a lot of other things in tap water other than chlorine. RO/DI will give you zero Total Dissolved Solid(TDS) which is what you want. I love in the mountains of Virginia and have pretty good quality tap water that runs from 75-125 TDS out of faucet.
