Is this normal/ok? Can I fill the tank up with water? Here are a few pictures of the tanks bottom rim. The tank was never used, brand new pretty much. Will it just straiten out when I fill it with water?
Yup, the stand is 100% perfectly lvl.<a href=showthread.php?s=&postid=14785889#post14785889 target=_blank>Originally posted</a> by Reefugee
Is that stand perfectly level? I don't recall my tank doing that on my DIY stand.
Styrofoam or insulation foam? How thick should the foam be?<a href=showthread.php?s=&postid=14785914#post14785914 target=_blank>Originally posted</a> by Ballageddon
I would most def use a sheet of foam.

Its the tanks bottom trim. Not the stand. I already checked.<a href=showthread.php?s=&postid=14786719#post14786719 target=_blank>Originally posted</a> by BodiBuilt
Something is not right. Try putting the stand upside down against your hardwood floor and see if the gap is still there... check the same way with the tank on the floor, one of them is not flat. The foam insulation will NOT correct this issue. The foam is very dense and does not compress very much.
Not sure to tell you the truth.<a href=showthread.php?s=&postid=14787142#post14787142 target=_blank>Originally posted</a> by Underwaterparadise
What brand is that tank?
Most tanks with trim are designed to where the glass rest on the trim not the stand so the glass is always level (in therory). In fact if you look at the Oceanic Bio cube it has 4 little legs that the aquarium sits on so there is like a 1"8 gap between tank and stand. If it is a reputable brand then I say no worries if it's a Chinese knock off then that's another story.
FWIW, I have used styrofoam under my glass tanks for years with no issues.

I would at least do a water test outside your house before filling it up inside. If it were mine, I might almost consider using some of that expanding foam to fill in the gap (comes in a cheese-wiz can)

DO NOT DO THIS.
Something is not right, with either the tank or the stand. I'm guessing is the stand.
Oh. lol What do I do now? Should I put some foam or something under the tank?<a href=showthread.php?s=&postid=14787551#post14787551 target=_blank>Originally posted</a> by Underwaterparadise
I meant Chinese tank not chinese knock off. If it's a nano tank I bet it's fairly normal for those tanks. With that said I don't trust anything like that in my house. I stopped buying knock off items like Jeboa and Odyssea years ago just for those kind of reasons..................you can never be sure whether they will hold up or not!

Honestly that's your call, it's a crap shoot IMO.
