Is this pump overkill ??

I am thinking of picking up a RIO 2100 for water changes. I have a 60 cube on a stand so i think its about 5 feet up. I really just want to make my water changes as easy and precise as possible. I had a RIO before and it was awesome but not sure the model. It lasted for a long time too.

Well.. Its gonna pump about 5 gallons per minute at that head..

Its up to you if thats "overkill" or not..
Seems fine to me..

I have the same pump for doing water changes on my 110. I pump water to/from the garage which is about 50-60 feet away and the top of the tank is about 6 feet up from the ground. Not the fastest water change in the world, but it works just fine for me.

I use a mag18 to move water from the basement to the living room. It could be faster IMO. It'll work just fine. Overkill? Try it and find out.
