is this rare??

yesterday i went to my LFS and got a maroon clownfish and it had an extra white spot on its side. i am just wondering how often this happens.

It happens a LOT with captive bred fish. In fact, it is more difficult to get a captive bred fish with perfect stripes than it is to get one that is misbarred. That said, if you like the way it looks, that's all that matters.
