Is this some sort of worm?

I have these two little things literally growing out of my rock. I think they may be some sort of worm. Can I just cut the little nubs off?

I want to place my orange scolymia there but it wont stay because of these things.

If hard they are probably vermetid snails. This is what would be causing your "webby thingys". Remove them. You don't want them to spread. The webby things are actually mucous they produce to feed. This can irritate the corals around them.

That looks like a pretty thin tube for a vermetid, I'm thinking spionid worm.

Edit: On second thought, there isn't really anything in the pic to get a sense of scale. Both fall under the category of "fairly harmless but annoying."

The one in the back is about 3/4 to 1 inch long. The one on the bottom is about 1/2 inch tall. I will cut them both off tonight and hopefully take care of 2 problems!

At that size definitely vermetid snails. If you have 2, there'll be more. Happy hunting.
