I'm getting a 250 litre aquarium and my current stocking ideas are:
1 yellow stripe maroon clown
2 blue chromis
A toby puffer of some sort
1 Algae blenny
A coral beauty or a flame angel (or both if thats possible?)
And possibly a snowflake eel but I don't know if I'm going to risk it yet

What are people's thoughts?
Thanks :)

the snowflake can get big (up to 24 inches) and are best alone or with other predators.
also they may bite, and they require heavy filtration to couteract their eating habits.
maroon clowns can be a big fish ( up to 8 inches) and when bigger, can be vicious.
the algae blenny will need algae to eat, so you will have to grow some, or, they can be converted to pellet food eating fish ( but only in some cases). what are your filtration plans?

Yeah I think I'll give the snowflake a miss. I've actually already got the maroon in my 30 gal and shes doing very well with the other fish (2 chromis) etc. but still only small so I'll see how she goes in the new tank.
I have some hair algae on my live rock at the moment, but how would I go about growing it for the blenny?
As for the filtration, the best possible option for me is a tank with a sump at the back of the tank, which is big enough to fit a smaller skimmer, some mechanical filtration (are filter socks the best for this?) and the heater, and I might be able to grow some algae in there too, but I'll have to see when the tank arrives. I also hope to get some more live rock as I currently only have enough for my 30 gallon.
Thanks

I would be very careful with that Maroon clown. They can be very aggressive once they mature and can easily take over that whole tank kill the other livestock.

Use filter sock or filter floss for mechanical filtration. The algae should grow if you have very little and I mean little nitrates and phosphate s and it should grow. If you don't want to do that try getting some caulerpa algae to grow instead as i t looks much nicer.

I'm getting a 250 litre aquarium and my current stocking ideas are:
1 yellow stripe maroon clown maroon clowns are feisty, go with an ocellaris of some sort.
2 blue chromis Go with only 1. Or eventually you will on have one
A toby puffer of some sort be aware that any CUC you put in their might be lunch but if you get one get a valantini
1 Algae blenny don't forget the algae wafers!
A coral beauty or a flame angel (or both if thats possible?) don't go with both pick one or the other
And possibly a snowflake eel but I don't know if I'm going to risk it yet start with a really small one and keep it well fed. no smaller chromis or clowns if you do this (same with the blenny) I do love snowflakes too but be aware that they are escape artists.

What are people's thoughts?
Thanks :)

I would also advise against the snowflake eel. They grow fast and WILL attack and eat smaller fish, like chromis. They can also escape from even a small hole in your canopy. The one I had seemed to be constantly searching for a way out, and eventually found one.

Clowns can also get big, mean, and territorial. This can severely limit your choices when looking to add new fish. I would leave the clown in the 30 at least until your new fish are established and well acclimated to your new tank. In other words, I would add the clown last or maybe not at all, depending on it's aggressiveness.
