Ok, here is a question for you all, i have a 47 gal tall tank ( 30 inches high) i have a 1200 MJ running my skimmer and 2 more 1200 MJ in the tank for flow plus a MJ 900. when i add up the totall flow i come about 1100 gph in a 47 gal tank. Is this too much flow or is it ok.

also may water test are great and use RO/DI for everthing. i don"t have any problems at all, i just wondering if this is to much for this size tank

You should be fine... I have about 25x running through my 40 breeder. As long as you dont have to much current pointed at corals that dont like alot of flow you will be ok

Thanks for the input, i just added the other 1200 to the tank because i did'nt think i had enough flow. all of my corals are doing great, i just did not want to cause alot of hard ache in my tank with addeding more flow.

With that being said my sand bed now is very clean, no chance for poop to settle with that amount of flow.

thanks for the input, i am new to sps's and was worried about there health. i thought that my flow was to low

It would be better to just get a rock from someones established tank and throw it in there. Then scrape a little but be warned, you may want it now but I almost wish the stuff would go away!

Josh...when my tank is up and running I'll pm. You just scrape it into a plastic cup with some water.
DaddyJax...I've always liked the coralline. I dont mind cleaning front and sides.

Man, it is like I can sit and watch it grow on my glass!! I wish I could put something on the glass that prevents from taking over.

I love it too, it just grows soooo fast for me!

My Calcium is around 370 to 390, been trying to get it up but no luck yet, and to tell you the truth i have no clue what my magnesiums is
