Is this very common?

I just noticed this polyp, or should I say polyp's?
I was just wondering how often a polyp "splits" or is double mouthed like this. It is the blue polyp in the center.
Thanks.

it looks like it might be splitting.
and those palys on the left look like they are reaching for more light.

LOL. No they actually aren't. These are "long stemmed" for a lack of better words. It doesn't matter where I put them, they have long stems, even when they were 6 inches from the bulbs.
Heres a pic of them.

I have some like that myself.....I put them under direct light from a MH 250 14k and they still stretched. I think the rock they are on stinks and they are trying to get away from it.........

That double mouth polyp is really cool looking, keep track of it with pictures and update us as it evolves into separate polyps.

I have a few long stemmed ones as well its just sort of the way they are. Love that two headed one though :)

i have a very similar type of zoa that is splitting like that. it is hard to get a pick it is glued to my overflow right under the light. hard to get it in focus because it is just under the waters surface and flash screws up pic.
