Islander's Old School Reef – 900 Gallon Display

I am super pumped for this build and really want to see the mangrove display put up!
Any ideas on species? Highly recommend orange mangroves!

Every reefers dream to own monster tanks.
I believe you have the necessary skills for success judging from your previous tank.
Subscribed and good luck.

Thanks. So far I find it super difficult with this build in terms of everything... Lots to learn. Super newb for building a large tank.

I am not that familiar with different mangrove species, will definitely look into orange mangroves. Is there a reason why you recommend it? Thanks.

wow, your dimmensions are awesome Im sure your aquascaping will be fun....

Yeah it took me a long time to decide on the 4' depth. Aquascaping will be fun for sure! I just hope it won't be too much pain for maintenance...!

The Bruguiera (orange mangroves) quite easily have the most beautiful flowers out of all of the mangrove species. Not as fast growing as reds, but they are incredibly sturdy and have large leaves. Outside of the flowers and leaves, pretty similar to other species otherwise.

Checked. We used to have this specie on the island but now extincted. How sad. I will have to import them through my LFS if possible.

beautiful coming along very nice!!
i really like the lay out of the tank/fish room in your place.

Thanks, it's a bit crowded but I like it too :)

Good job..How are you gonna scape this tank?

Hmmm don't know yet, gonna improvise when I see the rocks. Definitely will try bringing out the width of the tank with my scaping.

Great looking build, following along

Wow.
I'm speechless. This is going to be awesome. Sub'd.

Thanks guys!

Αmazing build , anxiously waiting to be completed. Where do you keep fish and corals until then?

I have a 180G holding / display tank now, already overstocking with corals :D

Testing the AIs..... heard there is a comment color mismatching problem for the blue channel, wanna catch it before installing onto the lighting rack. Luckily I didn't find any color mismatching, at least not to my eyes?
