ISO New PROP Farmers

As we announced on Saturday, PROP is looking for a few good men or women for new PROP farmers. This is a testament to how successful the program has been. We now have well over 50 PROP corals and the collection will continue to grow as we seek to bring new and exciting corals to Arizona.

Being a farmer is both easy and enormously fulfilling. Basically, we seek out really unusual (and frequently prohibitively expensive) corals from both local and online sources. We buy them, propagate them in our tanks and then sell them at auction at prices that are frequently an order of magnitude cheaper than anywhere else.

The requirements of a farmer are pretty simple. You need an established setup, a demonstrated understanding of the hobby, and a willingness to frag a coral when it's ready. We generally decide on purchases as a group but, if you see something super exciting and just can't resist, go for it. This is a low pressure group and we don't expect perfect (or even close to perfect) results. We fail as often as we succeed but I'd bet that we beat the averages (my attempts not included).

If you are interested in keeping and propagating some of the rarest and most exotic corals in your tank, please PM me. We'll schedule a meeting to take a look at your setup and if all goes well, you'll be part of the group. Note that we are very informal.

If I had a dedicated frag tank or even more room in my 110, I would probably be interested since zoas and palys seem to do pretty good for me.

Keep in mind that we only expect you to take the corals that (a) you would like in your tank (b) that you have room for, and (c) that you think would do well. Usually, we try to keep any given coral in at least two tanks so even keeping a few backups would be helpful.

I just completed an upgrade that provides me a lot of space to grow out corals. I have been looking for ways to get more involved in the local community, especially the frag auctions. The system may be a little new today to prove out its stability, but I would love to talk further and determine how I can help or when.

There in lies the problem as I don't think I've even allowed enough grow space for the corals I do have. Lol, but if you want to check out my system just pm me and we'll see what you think.

Need to see what happens over the next month, I might be moving and dont want to step up just to have to break down my systems soon after, my grow out tank is 80% z/p anyway so that might help fill in what you guys are looking for. will know for sure in the next 4-6 weeks hopefully.
