Hey Rich,

Which wrasse were you thinking about? Yeah I love that wrasse, the yellow and blue stands out quite a bit compared to my other fishes. Big investment but don't regret it one bit!

Looks really good nice build... I have an SV as well SV1000S to be exact I really like the white of whose ever that was.

scrapz - the base is like a dark red, but does look purple in the pic. It's a cool fungia plate. :D

scott26 - What's SV?

I have the upgraded 1050a. Pretty good so far, although I don't have too many fishes and corals yet. The 1050a is rated for 300+ gallons. I was originally going to pick up one of the deluxe skimmers, but thought that might be a bit of an overkill. My sump is 80-90 gallons and I have rocks in there for filtration, plus my main tank has lots of sand.

Algae wise I'm still getting some, but don't have to clean the tank much maybe wipe the glass once a week. I think as long as I slowly add livestock I won't have too much of an issue. I keep the 400w radiums on for about 6 hrs.

James, tank is looking great. I love the yellow anenome and the plate coral.

I saw a tunze 6215 for sale locally a couple of days ago. I think he was asking $300. Let me know if your interested and I will pass on the specifics.

Oigimsar - thanks man appreciate the kind words. And def pm me some info on the wavemaker...I think my corals and fish will enjoy it. :D

Darrell thanks bro. How's your tank doing?

k.tran - the wild Latz are already in my tank. They are doing well. One has already taken over my rbta forest...and keeping the smaller one away. Hopefully they'll pair up soon!

I was hoping the clowns will pair up before I snap pics of them, but maybe this long weekend I'll update with clown/anemone pics. :D

So found out my nitrate was kind of high a week ago. Since then I have done the following:

1. Cleaned out the sump. Sucked up all the detritus or as much as I could before I did watch change.
2. Bought some filter socks. This is so that no more detritus will get into the sump from the DT. I will be washing these once a week hopefully.
3. Threw a old powerhead into the skimmer chamber. Same reason as above just in case. :D
4. MicroBacter 7. Dosed daily for the last 5 days.
5. 10% water change of about 35 gallons.
6. Turkey basted all the rocks to get rid of that layer of sand/detritus
7. Stirred the sand.

It seemed to have worked. I tested today and nitrate is decently low but not at zero. From my turkey basting I think I need to add more flow to the tank. Anyone have experience with the Tunze 6205's? I'm thinking about buying 1 or 2 of them. Right now I have 4 smaller models of the Tunze.
