Issue w/ part of my last order....

Part (most actually - lol) of my last order was a SCWD. It doesn't seem to be functioning correctly. It squeals & leaks (I posted about it here - http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=327803)

I gather this isn't normal? Do they take a bit to break in?

Just thought I'd ask if you folks had any tips before I sent it back.

Also, would it be quicker to just order another one & then refund the price of the old one when you get it?

Hi Erik,

Sorry you are having problems with the SCWD. That is not normal for it to be making noise, especially if you are not running a really fast water flow. Good chance the gear inside is defective. Apparently it just needed a "break in". It's running fine now, it stopped making noise after about 24 - 36hrs of run time. I'm guessing that it had an air bubble trapped inside (based on the sound).
