Issues Updgrading Firmware... beware I'm a Mac user

I tried updating the firmware on the Apex last night, but to no avail. I am able to get to the point where the IP/MAC address is changed, but once I click on update firmware, I get a UDP error IP address in use. This is strange because I changed the last octet to xxx.xxx.1.60, when the APEX is xxx.xxx.1.50.

Any suggestions? By the way, it took me forever just to find Apex Utility in Terminal because the file could not be found.

good luck ! never succeed updating firmware with my mac...:furious:
doing it on an old PC (winndows xp) and it is much easier !
what OS do you have ? (think you need at least 10.5)...

I'm going to be honest with you, I struggled from one thing to the next for over a week trying to upgrade firmware with my mac. I finally broke down and called Neptune, literally the first thing out of the guys mouth was, "Is there any way you can borrow a friend's PC?"

Well, long story short I did just that and had it figured out in less than five minutes. Save yourself the trouble and beg, borrow, or steal a PC. Neptune may claim to have a Mac solution but I'm inclined to believe its basically in place to market to a wider consumer base than actually provide true support.

That's unfortunate, as a former Apple employee, I tried everything I knew. I'll try using VMWare and see if that works, but it would require installing windows on my Mac... Oh my!

Ok, so I borrowed a friends netbook and attempted to upload the firmware again, but I kept getting timed out issues. I guess I'm missing something here, even on a windows machine.
