Issues with my new 6205s

I have one 6105 and two of the new 6205s. The 6105 absolutely kicks tail and I am incredibly impressed with it. I had it for a couple weeks before getting my 6205s a couple days ago. Unfortunately, the 6205s are generating considerably less output than the 6105 ...and the 6201 they replaced. :( Major bummer.

All 3 are on a 7095 multicontroller. I've tried everything I can think of...all settings to max output, multiple controller combinations, the adjusting screw is on highest setting, etc.. As it stands, I can barely feel flow 18"-24" from the units. Is there a break-in period? What am I missing? Suggestions?

Thanks.

Norm R, that is not normal as my 6205 flow very strong. Check all the connection make sure nothing is loose, remove the pump from the controller to see if the speed change...

Thanks for the idea Jar*Head. I had tried this previously but gave it another shot. Same result...very low output. What I find strange is that they are both doing this....

Make sure that the white knob on the junction box is turned all the way up. Check that the power supply is the correct one, it should have a green LED and be the same one as a 6201. Check that the drive unit spins freely on the shaft.

A few people have asked me about the status of my 6205s. We are still working through it...Roger is a great help, of course. :)

Hi All

after reading this tread, should I wait for a revised 6205 or this is a isolate case

I have a large 2,4 meters long tank by 1 meter deep and I was thinking in 2 6205

o could I use 6105...

thanks

We will get some more pumps next week. Here was the conclusion from testing the 6205 Norm sent in.

The flow rating is correct however it is far more diffuse than the 6201. This is due to the housing. If you put the pump in a standard 4ft 120 you can see the flow ripple and rise as is it hits the far wall. However it is barely perceptable with your hand 2ft away. It has less force than the older pumps though the flow is the same it is just wider and spreads far more rapidly.
