Man, I'd just about SWIM there to get a piece of that blue stag from Aster!

Good grief.

Thanks for posting.

TT

Todd, that is a blue loisettae. I had one identical too it which grew into basketball size. I received mine from Mandoman. You can see his colony on exoticreefs.

Really? I've never seen one with such thick branches. Of course I've never seen one anywhere near that size either. :)

THanks,

Todd

From the looks of the tanks I would have to say most of them have been setup 4+ years... What do you guys think?

I always thought I had a nice tank, and I do. Mine has a mixture of LPS, SPS and softies. These tanks however are just stunning. The SPS colours make them very impressive. It must have taken years to grow these tanks to this size.

here's one thing I noticed, ... all the top tanks here in the US seem to always have all the coralline growth on the bottom edges of the glass and what not, but not a SPECK on any of those pictured from Italy! Are we just lazy and don't want to clean it all off, or what?!?

Or are their lights just so bright that even way down in their tanks, coralline has nowhere to grow?!?

Some guys here in the U.S. do have the spotless look. Its more work, but looks a ton better. Coralline washes out the colors. The Japanese have lower Ca levels (400) which stunts the growth of coralline. Either way, it has to be scraped out.

Any one notice this..........mg 1500ppm...?

Yes. Looks like a lot of their methods are at the highest level. Accelerated growth vs normal seawater parameters. It reminds me yrs ago when SPS fanatics were into the most intense light you can add, the better. Looks like Italy never changed this method and we can see it has worked for them.

Danilo Ronchi's tank.. Love the wild stag growth!

Edward, I had an opportunity to see Todd's tank last weekend. You need to put a photo of his tank up on here. It's not italian, but his acros are some of the nicest I've seen. Nice sized colonies too!
