Does you're arm or arms ever itch and slight burning after u have had them in the tank? Mine do, don't know if I have a reaction to the saltwater or what...its not bad just temporarily annoying.

Do you get the same reaction to your fresh made salt water. Some corals are known to give severe reactions. Ever swam in the ocean.

I've never had a problems in the ocean, gulf, pacific or atlantic, I just got through my cycle so I don't have any corals yet, just live rock and sand. I use instant ocean salt maybe I should switch brands and see if that helps lol

I work with cardboard alot at my job, I might be getting thin papercuts I just can't see.....just thought of that.

I agree, it stings a bit when you put them in new saltwater, especially when you have open cuts from taking the hard salt out of the container. But the aquarium is definitely worth it!

I was in Myrtle Beach just recently and my skin reacted the same why as it does after having my arm in my tank.... itchy, stingy..... Just maybe the saltwater

And on top of it all my skin is peeling from being out in the sun for hours on end while there - WELL WORTH IT!

+1 on the water, I've only been to a few beaches and myrtle beach was by far the worst.

This usually only happens on fresh salt mixes or in my brute bin I have my LR curing in. After I pull some LR out it itches. The DT doesn't do this though, just dries out my skin from the salt.

I usually go rinse off my hands and arms (if I got that deep) after I'm done messing with the tank. It doesn't itch much, but it just feels irritated, like having a film of salt on the skin.

Cuts will definitely show themselves when poking around inside the tank!

really I thought it was pretty good - not as good as it was in the western Caribbean or South Beach but pretty good for the mid- lower Atlantic coast....

Myrtle beach isn't bad at all. If your there and can drive a little North to sunset, park on the southern part of the island and walk south on the beach to a more secluded spot. If that's the sort of thing your after.

Op, where did you get your snails?

This used to happen to me when I used live rock in my tanks. I'd get that itchy, slightly burning feeling after taking my arm out. Since I started using dry rock in tanks though I haven't had this problem. I'm not sure if it was something in the live rock I had that bothered my skin or if I just got used to always sticking my arms in saltwater. :spin3:
