Its a bouncing baby froggie

Thats right this morning I spied a really tiny tiny fragspawn head that has sprouted about 4-5" from mama. It is now partly under the overhang of a rock and has nice polyp extension. Should I move it to a small in tank QT (its a sponge holder that hangs on the side of the tank or should I move it more forward to get more light.

Pictures to come later.

I would say to leave it where it stands as long as it's in an area that it's doing well in, and at least looks like a favorable area for growth.

I've got tons of baby pocillapora colonies all over my tank because my pocillapora colony is large and mature. There is even a baby colony on the intake guard on one of my Seios 1100s. Also my riccordias have been letting streams of babies out for a while too. It's awesome.

With time, favorable conditions, and probably occasional feedings as well, most of our corals can and may just spawn in our tanks. Wicked.

I was taking pics today so I thought I would take one of the babies, both ricordias and pocillaporas on one rock together.

I'm surprised as heck that I've been finding them all over the powerheads. there must be 7 baby colony on one powerhead and 2 or 3 on the other.

Eric very nice but believe it or not Pocci's can be very aggressive towards others sps. Watch them closely b/c they can become a pest- go figure nothing easy in this hobby.;)

hey ninja:

what did you do to make it have babies? mine just split into different heads....

do you directly feed your froggys? or was it just the candles and romantic music?

im pretty sure u dont have to do anything, just good take parameters and lighting. i get babies on the bottom of mine, near the tissue area. it doesnt float away but its there. u can cut it and glue it to other places to get it to grow out

I dont know. I just saw is there almost stuck under a rock. I was about 4-5" from mom and it was just a small head. I just used epoxy to stick it to a plug. I will take a pic tomorrow.

My frogspawn had multiple branches, all of which have little tiny baby froggies sprouting near the base of the tissue on each one. Sometimes I think it releases them in the hopes of propogating itself. Right now there's one in the sand right in front of one of the branches...thinking about scooping it up and seeing how it does. I also fragged the mother colony by cutting it apart with pruning shears (found a pair at Target for about $7 that works great!). Got 4 big heads out of it...they're expanding up to 3" diameter now.
