Its about time! 265g build started.

The skimmer has finely been sent to the shop to get fixed/upgraded. After much research and speaking with several other long time DIY reefers and my buddy that is going to do the work on it, we are going to mod the $hit out of it. We are going to make it taller, add a bubble plate, new pump(s) and recirculate it. More to come later....

sounds good man. Make sure you use a wedge valve or a gate valve on that thing for adjustability. Might also consider making an external collection cup.

PS - If your tank is set up let me know when you're ready for some fish. I need to thin out my stock a bit and may sell some of my stock. I have 30-40 fish between my 380 and 150g tanks.

Sounds good. I hope it won't be too much longer.

On a side not. Sometime in the next week or so I'm going with my brother to pickup a 340g cube. I figure it will be FW but I'm going to try and talk him into adding some salt.

I was told it was 4 x 4 x 3!

Sounds perfect for 4- 400W Radiums. :)

That is a steal on the tank, I hope it cleans up without too much problem. Does it have an overflow?

Yes, it is reef ready. I was told it was tank, stand, and some plumbing. Was told it needed a good bit of work but could be saved.

Pluming is finished and I added FW last night to give it a test run. Its been running for about 12 hours and there were no leaks. If nothing has leaked by the time I get home from work then I will drain and start filling with RO/DI and it will be time for some salt. I still have to build the light rack but I'm not too worried about that. I ordered the rest of my lights last week and the order came in with one bulb MIA. Trying to figure out what happened to it as it was shipped in a separate box. Both custom frag tanks have also been put on hold after my brother busted the first one. We'll replace the busted panel and build the second tank sometime this winter. I won't have the monster skimmer running yet but I do have two "smaller" skimmers I can run on it till I get the 12-4 fixed. Shouldn't be much longer guys.

I have no idea how long it will take to make that much water. I will start today after work. As for the lights. I will be running 250's on each end and a 400 in the center. I will also have 2 54w T5 actinic and 2 65w PC actinic.

I still need to run some more electric in the fish room, build the light rack and find some extra money to get the salt. I wish I would have kept track of the $$$$ that I've spent on this project but then again maybe not.

The buckets of Salt are ~ 160G mixes? Your going to need 2+ buckets just for the initial fill. :)

It took me what felt like an entire weekend to fill my 120G of RO/DI. I was running from a different supply line so I don't know what my pressure was, plus I wouldn't run it at night of if I was going. It just felt like it took forever.

Well lets see my RO/DI does around 4 gallons an hour so... and it's a 100GPD so probably running 12 hours a day 6 days it might have the main display filled.

I don't think I'm going to completely fill it with RO/DI. I would like too but I have 4 tanks running that are going to be combined into this one so I'm going to use a good bit of water out of those to get it started.

Ok, here is a tease. I'm not posting pic's of the display till I get it aquascaped the way I want it but here are some pic's of the behind the scenes in the fish room.

80" DIY light rack.

Sump & Temporary skimmers.

Sump & 33G long frag tank. I'll use it till the custom tanks are in.

Best shot I can get of the fish room. On the right is the 75g QT tank.

I'll do some pic's of the display when I'm happy with it.
