I did a lot of research on MH lamps and ended up going with 20k Reef optics. The main reason I went with those was cost. They are about 1/2 the price of most name brand MH lamps. The reason I went with the 20k is because of a review I read online that stated that there wasn't much difference in the 14k and 20k. I always ran 14's on my old tank but thought I would give the 20's a try. Plus Crissy likes the blue look. I do have to say that so far I'm happy with the way it looks. They only have about 16 hours burn time at this point so we'll see what I think after they get some time on them. As for total watts... 400x1 + 250x2 + 65x2 + 54x2 = 1,138 total watts.

I did the same research and planned to get Reef Optics but after talking with Keith I went with 14k Plusrites from LSE...about $13.00 a bulb cheaper even than reef optics :bigeyes:
Just got them Monday so they're still burning in but so far I really like the color.

I've ordered bulbs twice off ebay. Don't remember if they had a brand name or who I got them from but both times I haven't been happy so I thought I would try something different.

All the trim is finished. Tank is scaped. Not sure if it will stay this way but it works for now. I also will add sand at some point. I'll also be adding a vortech when it comes in.

Thanks for the comments. I'm excited about watching the corals start to grow in. I did a good bit of fragging before the move. I guess I need to put up a sale/trade thread. I have a good bit of stuff in the frag tank.
