It's automatic!

So before the current presidential administration decided to kick it's civil servants in the teeth, ( that's a whole 'nother story ) I had purchased a new Apex Lite, a dosing pump and a BRS double reactor. I finally had a chance to set it up this week.

It all started with a 22 gauge piece of steel and a template.

A couple of bends here and there,

some black satin paint and a final clear coat and, Wallaa!

I took the dremel to the grates of the reactor for more flow since a lot of the reviews stated that it clogged easily.

Here's the whole setup.

My son came down from college break and helped me set up the WiFi range extender and set up the technical parts of the Apex. This is not for the average Joe, I can tell you that.

I would like some input or critiques from those with experience with this kind of set up. I haven't completely set up the doser as I still have to determine my levels and how much I need to dose. I know that BRS has a calculator for this.

I also have to calibrate the PH probe, but it seems that I have to purchase those packets separately. I have a probe holder on the way. I'm a little leery of the reactor being out of the sump, but it won't slide in any way. I made sure to watch it for even the tiniest leak, but it seems to be good. This might be something that I'll leave turned off when I go on vacation.

Don't worry the reactor doesn't leak. Just gets clogged. Hopefully your mod works. If so u'll have to let us know. Sk I can do it to mine I hate it right now and I'm about to switch to a different one. But first I have two individual ro/di containers I am going to do a split and run each separate. How btw mine are out of the sump and hanging over my uv sterilizer

I actually got the idea from Josh's setup, but modified it a little to leave some material to hold the sponge. You have to use the sponges on the GFO so that it doesn't leak through. I also tied a small media bag on the end of the return line to catch any initial sediment.

It's actually one day a pay period, but that doesn't make it sting any less.

I have a sterilizer that is on it's way and was wondering if it can be run off the return line of the reactor or does it have to have it's own dedicated pump?
