It's Hay Season in FARMington!

This past March I came home from Mizzou for the weekend and my parents told me that our house was for sale and that they bought 10 acres just outside of town. Well, it's now June and it's time for the field to be cut and baled for hay. Tonight a good friend of ours, Moe, came and cut the hay...it'll be baled Friday and Saturday. I brought the camera out with me tonight and snapped a few pics of the affair and some other miscellaneous things at the "farm." We hope to be all moved in by the first week of August.

I didn't even see this guy when I took the pic. What kind of spider is it Steve?

The pic's kind of dark, but here's what's at the end of our driveway.

Here's our neighbor's vineyard...he sold us the property and is a family friend.

This is my favorite stand of trees on the place...don't know why, I guess because the trunks are all twisted and cool, and they're also sassafrass and smell GREAT!

This one's just for you Steve!

The last time Steve was in town we went and started walking the property line. My dad hadn't brushhogged in a few days and we ended up with dozens of these stupid ticks all over us. This time the field was completely cut (for hay) and this was the ONLY tick I found!

Cool area...I grew up on close to 200 acres in Augusta which was all vineyards...

BTW- The spider on the flower is a "caucios repambiant"

Nice pictures!! Looks like a relaxing place to be.

Is that your house, or is that your parent's house?

That's my parents' house :) My house is in Columbia and is nowhere near that size :) I do have a room in this house though, and I designed the barn.
