48/48/24

Lots of elbow grease to prep it. Lil alcohol n lot of rubbing.
I'll try to get some close up pictures of seams as we put the bottom/top on

Back to the stand! I hope to get it up and painted this weekend and finally assembled Monday night. My skimmer should be coming along too:D

Now I am really starting to need to figure out my drain/return situation. I am thinking 1.5 inch holes. 3 for drains and 2 for returns. Anyone with some input on this? Too much, just right, I have no clue

Corey

Lol elbow grease is opening cold ones!!! Rubbing the sweat off the bottles.
Used the pin method. On these sides being assembled I did more watching then helping. I have never built a tank before so I helped a bit but watched more. For the top and bottom though I will help more

Few pictures of painting the stand.
Happy Father's Day to me, my mom helping paint it

Thanks jack! I'm hoping another week or so for the tank. Pressure is on me to get the stand ready. Figure one more water change on my rock as it cycles then I should be good to go. I hope!!!

Corey

As I know all too well, the hard part is getting the stand just right. The tank can sit until everything else is perfect. I had my tank before I started on the stand, it about killed my patience, but I persevered.

Yes you did. That tank of yours is awesome. Yes you are right, the tank can wait if needed for a complete stand and cycle of rock. Skimmer should be getting built too.

Corey

Thanks, it is getting there, I regret not getting a 48x48x24, those are just great dimensions, but at least I have the only one like mine.

No rubbing in prep. Rubbing the sweat off my eyebrow(bad joke sorry)We are building the tank at his workshop and the stand I'm building at my place.

Corey

Got the top put on and hoping the bottom will follow this weekend. Stand is almost finished too.
New dilemma I have, custom beckett skimmer from GEO or needlewheel skimmer. If the needlewheel my budget is about 750$. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Thanks
Corey
