its hip to be square....

That aqua-scape is really really nice! You should take allot of pride in that. It almost looks like a fake living colors reef insert because it's done so well.

Thanks a lot man. I'm really pleased w it and I don't know if I've ever said that before. :D

Question, on a manifold should the return lines to the tank be closest to the pump or closest to the dead end?

Corey

I don't run manifolds that way but I would think that probably to the end in order to release the extra pressure. If it's right near the pump you will lose pressure to the rest of the manifold.

Water ready to run through it tomorrow :D

Got it all plumbed and running! One very small leak out of a thread at the pump. Will fix this tho. Small "burping" sound from one drain. It isn't glued into place yet tho because I wasn't sure if it would work so I'm sure it's pulling air from there. Goby Gold and 2 MP40's are a TON of flow for this cube......:D
But while filling up the sump, I didn't think about all the pressure on the baffles and some came unattached. I should have filled 1/2 then filled other side to equal pressure out but I didn't so now I gotta figure that out. But I'll likely just use he baffles I have as opposed to draining sump to reinstall them.
I'll post pictures when the dust settles

Glad it's finally up and running with the pump! Sorry about the baffles, I had to fill them equally like you mentioned to save failure to mine also. Just another lesson to learn!

Do you have photos of the baffles that remain?

Yeah I wasn't thinking about all the pressure like a dummy :headwally:
I plan on doing it Thursday when my buddy comes over to help

Corey

i hope its an easy quick fix and you're back running in no time! how long do you plan to let the silicone cure before getting the sump wet?

Got the sump out today and some baffles out in and will finish hem 2morro. Gonna let them cure for 3-4 days then add water back in but gonna go and fill 1/2 and 1/2 this time so no side has too much pressure on it. Also gonna take the sand out. Too much water flow in there for the sand. Just gonna use rock instead.

nice. learn from your mistakes! sounds like you've got it sorted this time!

So flow for the tank is currently running with just powerbeads in the display? No skimmer running?

No. There is only 3 fish in it. I will have it all running Monday. The skimmer pump is an iwaki 55 so hope to turn the tank volume quickly through the skimmer and catch up any debris in the tank

Corey

Got it all siliconed back and in place. Gonna let it set for another day before I run water through it. I'll post pics later!
