Wife and I WILL BE RETURNING!!!

We went this weekend to a few places to check out Nano setups and see some old faces. Once she saw some of the corals she used to like, she looked at me and said.."Honey, we are getting another tank because I want one of these and one of those, oh and some of that and maybe this too."

With seeing her excitement and my obvious love for this hobby.....the bike will be for sale after Sept. 14th for those wondering. This hobby was chosen over the motocross.

It is going to be a Nano setup of some type. Probably in the 28gish range. Something manageable for her if I am out of town so that she does not feel overwhelmed. Once she is comfortable with taking care of the smaller tank, although it may be more difficult keeping things in check with the smaller volume, she will then discuss the possibility of going bigger again.

I will be enlisting the help of dja1980, if he has time of course, to get this going the right way from the get. He was recommended by the owner of Nanocustoms, (Chris) as well as Rod and Craftytony.

I know I look very forward to returning and getting the new tank going. Although small, we plan to make it just as nice as the last one.

Rod, you are on notice for (2) Onyx clowns :D and a Rose to go with it. Those will be the first inhabitants of the tank.

Thanks for the support from those that gave it. Will be nice to share experiences again with those from before and meeting those that we have not yet met.

Thanks. Good to be back. Just need to get started. Will happen the end of the month afetr the move.

Sounds like a fun project... Sometimes I wonder if gettin' bitten by the nano bug is more dangerous than going big. Some of these nanos you see that are so pimped out, mine included, you start to wonder how much money you really saved by going the nano route. And, I used to be one of those guys that said I would never mod my tank! Oh well, at least I'm limited by how much livestock I can keep... wait, is that a good thing!!??

Honestly, I don't consider myself as someone that knows a lot about putting systems together... that's what I have Rod for :p . However, I will definitely share what I have learned in my experience with nanos. I basically knew that I wanted a system with lighting capable of keeping SPS, which is where Nanocustoms came in, but from there, I learned that keeping SPS required much more than just intense lights. One thing just kind of led to the next... from lighting to flow to protein skimming, to keeping stable parameters, they all proved to be quite challenging if I wanted to keep the stock appearance from the front... and I still don't have many SPS corals!

Another good guy in the nano world you might want to PM is Ray Whisperer. I believe someone commented on one of his nanos by saying "what is that thing, a weapon of mass destruction?".

I would not be comfortable neglecting my tank like that. I rode 3-4 days a week if not more and combining that with work would leave no time for the tank. I can't do soemthing 50%. I either give it full attention or I don't do it at all.

I rode/raced at Joliet, Mendota, BR, Walnut,Byron,Waterman,Motoland,Red Bud and some tohers.
