I have I had the same tank for 10 years, 9 years in this house with out ever tearing it down. I have been dreaming of a 240ga deep tank 60 x 36 x 24 and I have been trying to convince Jenn to letting me up grade. She would always say lets wait until we add on to house, you do not know if you are going to be transferred for work, the house is to small etc etc …. Until one day Bruce was over and he mentioned to Jenn that the life expectancy of a tank was 9 to 10 years and when they go the seals give way and floods the whole house. Thanks Bruce I owe you big time!! I really did not push the issue until one day Bruce and I were cursing the LFS and we saw these new deep dimension tanks by Marineland and I just fell in love with them. Then I found out Billy order one and it was all over and I ordered a 250ga. Its on Billy and the rest you will see.

The tank move

We had the tanks disconnected moved and running again with in 1.5 hrs. All we did was drain the tank about 2/3rds down and put fruniture sliders on and slid the tank ovar with out a single pice of coral or LR moving or falling. Thanks Chris, Bruce and Greg...its amazing what beer will get you.

Plumbing and Electrical

I have learned alot and followed suggestions from fellow hobbeyest and decided to plumb the wall so I will never have to do another water change using buckets or a hose. I also rand two 2amp dedicated circuts for the tank.

Some more stand prep.

I had to cut the wood to make sure everything went together and each piece fit just right out side the house . Then I had to disassemble it and put it back together in the house because it was to big to fit through any doors.

now for the real sump.

In order to get this new tank there was one condition. Everything had to fit under the stand so I had a custom sump made. It is a 70ga sump plus a 30ga top off chamber.

Nice work. Really like how the bottom of your stand is raised off of the ground, easier to clean up after flood/mold, all reef stand should be like that with the amount of flooding mess we made. Glad you guys were able to flip the tank to get it through the door.
