Hey guys,
So recently I posted a picture of my Chance of Coral SPS Growout Challenge and received a PM from Jason aka "racinjason" to check my tank because he might see bite marks. So I just had my friend Terry aka "stryker" come by to check it out right now and it's confirmed that I have AEFW since it is the first time I've ever had AEFW and I don't know how it looks. Very sad day. I just wanted to inform everyone who has bought any SPS from me within the last 6 months since I don't know when I contracted this. I texted some reefers I remember that bought from me recently about my issue. I'm pretty good at using Bayer dip for all new purchases and I cut off the frag plug and use a lot of glue to cover the ends of SPS, but without a quarantine tank it is a possibility that some eggs snuck by during dips.

Sorry in advanced for the inconvenience guys!

Between measles and your outbreak this area got hit hard. Feeling for you, that sucks. Thanks for being a honest reefer.

Dang Will, sorry to hear but props for you notifing the community! That's very responsible of you. That said and knowing you have aefw, I'd still love a frag of your wolverine 2.0 and orange passion!

Yeah Wayne. I'll let you know after treatment and hopefully I can keep the stress low for the SPS so they don't all brown out.

Here's one of the worst frags I have that is infested with bite marks:

Bottom right of the frag you can see a big worm, very camoflaged! That is a big adult worm and the bite marks are big, Mostly you will see smaller bite marks.

Good luck getting rid of them, in my opinion the only way is no Acros in your tank for 3 months and all your frags in a quarantine dipped once a week until you move them into the bug free tank.

Any other way just drags it out. I have read a few full tank treatment threads and until it is proven they can still come back. In three months you will be past it and can rebuild the fallow way.

Any of your corals that are still healthy you could pass on some fresh cut frags to friends to hold until you are free of the plague. I tried to get on top of them in the past and the best way is to not give them anything to eat!

Yeah Scott,
I plan to set up a QT from my fish only system and getting all SPS out and if there are any base parts still alive I will kill it so it won't be any acropora left in tank for them to survive. So from that link I posted, they treated for 8 weeks. You're saying at least 12 weeks?

8 weeks with 0 acros is what I read, but I would give it a few extra weeks just in case you have a super worm:)

I like to be very careful because these little creatures will ruin your coral.

Save the image, import to your photobucket or like and then you can edit and save it and then send it back to here Scott. Good eye by the way. I figured it out because the color was brighter but if you hadn't I'd never know. I've never seen or dealt with this.
