How much longer will the mouth gape?

BTW, its under a 250w 14k with a few pieces of screening.

yes looks to be haddoni. How does the mouth look now? Colour looks good.More than likley you are going to have to move the torch and duncans

Just want to make sure its looking good, ive been around reef's for years but this is my first carpet and am probally over reacting. What do you all think? Mouth is still gaping how long does it normally gape for?

TIA

My guess...when you weren't around that big clown beat that nem up. That would at least be my hope. The other outcome is far worse bc it would mean that nem is unhealthy. Keep an eye on the deflation of the nem...if it seems to be getting worse there isn't much you can do. Check your parameters and make sure there aren't any major changes going on you are unaware of...good luck!

While im not always there to check the tank/anemone, i highly doubt the clown was bothering it. She just totally seems to ingnore it. Although i do not doubt it is completyely impossible i just find it unlikely.

As far as deflation and paramters, everything seems stable to this point. Also how rare is it for a melanistic occelaris clown to host a haddoni?

Here is another pic, a FTS from the side, you can see the carpet towards the right side.

Hit or miss on the clown...theres even a chance the haddoni would eat the clown if healthy enough. If clown is paying no mind to the nem, then the haddoni is likely unhealthy. What did it look like in the LFS? Same as in your tank would indicate unhealthy specimen. If it looked good in the LFS and is worse in your tank it is likely something in your water parameters. Where did it come from/?

Update,

it deflates and inflates daily, not sure if that is normal for these guys. havnt given up on it yet though. What are the tell-tale signs that its gone?

That isn't normal at all (( excluding getting slightly smaller when the lights are off )).

Is the insides staying inside the mouth?

This is a tell tale sign that it is gone,

For reference, it looked like this 24 hours prior --- this was a new haddoni.
