Izshocker's 90 gallon build thread

Man,
Looking back thru this is depressing.

Right at this moment, I have my trooper of a Duncan and palys that survive everything, 7-10 polyps of zoas, a few green mushrooms.

Working to restore alk levels that were down to 5.2 dkh. Have it up to 7.5 with dosing over that last 5 days, aiming for 9. Already seeing a lot more color in the Duncan.

Equipment additions I've done over the last month.

Jebao Dp4 dosing pump, the badly translated instruction have me confused on how the setup works.

Tunze auto top off: wish I would of got one of these from the start.

And the big purchas, the new apex. Just waiting for this to arrive from BRS.

The gadgets have sparked my interest in the tank again. I love my gadgets. I know with the apex I'll be constantly checking on my phone & tablet how things are going with the tank.

One thing I'd like to do different with this tank is a basement fish/sump room.

All the new equipment isn't going fit in the stand.

So after two weeks of obsessive testing & dosing I have my levels up & stable.

During this time I watched a ton of YouTube videos on setting up the Jebao dp4 & tested it to make sure it was dosing the correct amount at the times I programmed it to dose, so I added it to the system this weekend.

With everything in normal ranges I've notice 3 tiny new heads on the Duncan's, palys & zoas have colored back up.

Feeling good about the tank again.

Good deal! I find reefing goes in cycles. The key is set things up so that when you're busy with other stuff, it requires little maintenance. Apex is a good idea, auto dosing kalkwater and Alk/Ca are a good idea so you don't have to worry about low Alk.

Dosing has always been my downfall, so automating it and having figured out what the tank uses per day are going to be huge. Before I'd remember that I hadn't dosed in awhile and then just dose 200-300 ml and then forgot to dose again for weeks.

One thing I hope neptune comes out with is stand alone optical eye level sensors like they have on the DDR. Would be nice to set up my containers with low level alarms.

. The mess of tank stuff slightly hidden in corner.

Log book. It dawned to me that while I was seeing the difference between test each day , I wasn't going to see trends of the tank.
And logging is helping fine tune the doser.

This is one sexy piece of equipment. Can't wait to start tinkering. Only thing that is cheesing me off is for an $800 dollar piece of equipment with 4 probes they don't provide a probe holder.

Ok. Long time no post. I tore down the setup in December 16 and it sat empty until July 17.
I've learned a lot with the last failure.
Water chemistry you must pay attention to it. Before I'd dosed daily then slack of weeks & then back to daily and my tank did not love me for it.
Temps you have to keep them stable and out of the mid 80's which was very hard to do in my house.
So new furnace & central air went in during the summer. My tank & 12 old black lab love me for getting the AC.

Coral dipping never did it with the old setup. Now everything gets dipped.

So on to what everyone care about pictures.
